With AudioMultiCut the middle step happens in your browser or in the iPhone app, free and without the recording being uploaded anywhere. This works for voice notes you recorded and voice notes someone sent you: the ten-minute message where only one detail matters, the interview snippet you want to archive, the funny thirty seconds worth forwarding out of a rambling note. ## Step 1: Get the voice note out of WhatsApp On iPhone: long-press the voice message, tap Forward, then Share, and choose the AudioMultiCut app, or save it to Files and open it from there. On Android: the same Share route works, or find the file through a file manager. On WhatsApp Web or Desktop, download the voice message directly. WhatsApp voice notes are OGG/Opus files. AudioMultiCut accepts them; if your browser cannot decode a particular file (Safari can be strict about Opus), Chrome or Edge will open it, and the iPhone app handles shared voice notes natively. ## Step 2: Cut it Open the file and the waveform shows you where the talking actually is. Drag a segment around the part you want, preview the edges, and adjust until it is right. If you need several pieces from one long note, mark them all: AudioMultiCut exports every segment in one pass. ## Step 3: Send it back Export as MP3, which WhatsApp accepts as an audio file, and share it into the chat. Note that it will appear as an audio attachment rather than a native push-to-talk voice note bubble: WhatsApp only creates those for messages recorded inside the app. The audio itself is what matters, and MP3 plays inline for the recipient. On iPhone, the app shares exported clips straight to WhatsApp, Messages, Telegram, AirDrop, or Files from the share sheet, including several files at once. ## FAQ ### Can I trim a voice message inside WhatsApp? No. WhatsApp lets you re-record but not edit. You need to take the audio out, cut it, and send the result, which is what this guide covers. ### Will the cut audio still be a voice note bubble? No. Re-sent audio appears as an audio file attachment, not a push-to-talk bubble. It still plays inline in the chat. ### Is the voice message uploaded when I cut it? Not by AudioMultiCut.
